Larry Brown Sports currently has a writing staff of seven people, comprised of full-time writers and contributors. Over 30 writers have published content for Larry Brown Sports since the site began in 2007.

WRITING STAFF

Larry Brown – Founder, Publisher

Larry BrownBrown has 20 years of professional experience working in the sports media world. Prior to founding Larry Brown Sports, Brown served as a nationally-syndicated sports radio host and update anchor for FOX Sports Radio and Sporting News Radio. At 21 years of age when he began as an update anchor for FOX Sports Radio, he was the youngest nationally-syndicated voice on sports radio. Brown previously wrote for AOL Sports and contributed to Max Boxing. He also has served as a voiceover talent for NFL.com. Steve DelVecchio — Senior Editor, Senior Writer

DelVecchio is based out of the New England area and covers all sports. He joined the Larry Brown Sports staff in 2010 and was the second full-time staff member. DelVecchio graduated with a degree in Communications and Sports in Society from UConn, and has written for “The Daily News of Newburyport.” You can follow DelVecchio on Twitter.

Grey Papke — Staff Writer

Grey PapkePapke is a staff writer based out of the Detroit area. He is a longtime fan of Detroit sports teams and an expert on the Tigers. Prior to Larry Brown Sports, Papke served as managing editor and writer at the Detroit Tigers-centric site, Walkoff Woodward. A soccer fanatic, Papke has co-hosted the American Cityzens podcast about Manchester City. You can follow Papke on Twitter.

Darryn Albert — Staff Contributor

Darryn AlbertAlbert is a contributing writer and has published over 7,500 stories for Larry Brown Sports. Based out of the Los Angeles area, Albert graduated from UCLA, where he served as a sports talk show host for the campus radio station. He is also a graduate of Loyola Law School. Albert’s work has been featured on several other sports sites, including The Sports Quotient, Halos Heaven, and Fight Monger.

Dan Benton — Staff Contributor, NFL specialty

Benton is an 18-year journalist and member of the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA). Benton is based out of New York and a lifelong fan of the local teams, with a particular affinity for the Giants and Yankees. In addition to his work at Larry Brown Sports, Benton works for USA Today SMG, where he serves as the editor of Giants Wire. Benton has also worked for MSG, SNY, AOL Sports, and was the founder of Giants 101.

Shane McNichol — Staff Contributor, College Basketball specialty

Shane McNicholShane McNichol covers college basketball and the NBA for Larry Brown Sports. He also blogs about basketball at Palestra Back and has contributed to Rush The Court, ESPN.com, and USA Today Sports Weekly. Follow him on Twitter @OnTheShaneTrain.
